Happy New Year! Spellbound team wishes all of you a brilliant 2012!

We had a really busy Jan! And reflecting back, we think that we are very lucky that each year starts off with really great couples. Last year's couple Ian and Eejia recently welcome their baby boy Koen and this year we got to do Steven and Clara who boogied until 2.30am!

The year also started with Anna, Spellbound's founder being featured alongside her pals, Hannah of Heaven's Gift (in maroon) and Kim of Wedding Concierge (in yellow) in Icon Magazine. It was a super fun day!!
Disclamer: dearest readers, I don't look so polished in real life! and I smiled lotsa more!

In the same issue, one of our dearest couples, Matthew and Michelle were also featured. What a brilliant couple they are...I do missed telling Michelle to stop working so very hard...she was working right up to the day of her wedding! Matthew was of course so sweet, totally surprising Michelle and the guests by singing the 2nd march in song...way to go Matthew!

The colours of the wedding are red, red and more red!

The gorgeous wedding gown was done by the super talented energizer bunny, Vaughn Tan. He was super creative, super nice and super everything!

The maroon bouquet was tied by Anna and because Michelle had said that her only specific request about flowers is that she wanted peonies, Anna had pre booked 3 wholesalers for peonies, two didn't have, and one had maroon...super yayy!

Michelle's cheongsam was done by Ted's Collection and it looked lovely! We love the details behind her back and the embroideries looked outstanding against the whites. Don't you also love the details of the red umbrella against the skyline? Wansheng of Feldberyl Photography, you're great as usual!
Michelle and Matthew also had Yang of Subtance Films, Jacqueline Law for MUA and also Compass for entertainment...all of Spellbound's favourites!

Alan and Maria is one of the best looking couple we have! Add to their good looks, they are a wonderfully nice couple : ) I am so happy when we do happy weddings for happy clients.

I love doing bouquets, we have ranuculous, hydrangeas, roses and tied them with crystal bands ontop of satin ribbons.

The photo album table! Didn't know Fullerton has this table? They have it usually next to the wall and we requested that they move it forward. I like antique looking tables!

Feathers add a whimsical feel to the elegant wedding!

Aren't the birdies just so super adorable?? We placed it under the unity candle and they nested on the flowers!

Alan and Maria, we wish both of you the very best for the future and God Bless every journey that you take!

I love decisive clients, and Jolene and Joseph is one of them. They knew what they wanted, gave me about 3 months to execute and we did it! It was super challenging and we relish it!

The articles above appeared in Tatler Weddings, though with one error on the decor. Decor & conceptualisation were arranged by Spellbound! A typo which as Spellbound's nature, we let it passed!

A Garden Church Wedding

When this lovely couple first told me that they had decided to do away with a wedding dinner and hold their celebration solely in their church, I thought it was a great idea!

Inspired by nature, the lovely lovely couple wanted to have trees inside the church! As the turn around time is rather short, we had 8 feet toparies installed with ivy leaves scalloped along the aisle. Sounds simple, but dear folks, it was massive undertaking! My army of staff had to put hundreds of ivy leaves onto the 3 feet topiaires casing and miles long scallops the night before the wedding! I do take my hats off to them! Meanwhile I was off barking at the set up crew of the tiffany chairs...they had to set 400 chairs in 1.5 hours! It was fun but totally stressful!

Lemon trees greeted the bridal car when it drives up the driveway...we had so much lemons left that we made lemon curd jams!

The couple are such food-natic! They had the best food for a church wedding, I swear! And Spellbound does a lot of church weddings too : ) What I love about them is that they really wanted the guests to have a sumptous and comfortable eating environment, hence the tiffany chairs, chinas and sparkling forks and spoons! If you peep at the photo above, you will see a lovely tree! Its their emblem!

I love the skyline on top of the lemon tree, it created a great light to shine onto the dessert table.

ROM at Au Jardin

Spellbound has always love open spaces with trees, a gecko or two...but in hot and humid Singapore, practicality sometimes rules. Au Jardin at Botanical Garden is a place that we have always set our hearts on and we are mighty glad that Weiquan and Rachel agreed with our suggestion!

We dolled up the archway to with lanterns and pomanders and scatter some lanterns on the ground for an informal feel.

Rachel's vows were so beautiful and heartfelt, I had a tear or two. Readers, this is why you must do your own vows, memorise them and look deep into your husband's eyes when you say it & vice versa.

Jessica is the sweetest and generous bride ever, the epitome of a Sabah bride! Jay is the most easygoing groom we had! We're so privileged to be doing their wedding both in Magellan Sutera, Kota Kinabalu and Ritz-Carlton, Singapore.

We placed 8 feet high topiaries to line the aisle at Ritz-Carlton with red carpet (the rare occasions that we use red carpets!)

Alvin and Joline

Hi Folks!
Alvin and Joline wanted to replicate the Sakura stroll for their wedding in Ritz-Carlton. Their wedding being in June, we can't freeze the oh so fragile sakura trees, so we did the next best thing! Replicate!

Spellbound, being spellbound...we can't resist doing a candy bar for them at their church ! Eunice putting her skills on to good use, wrote all the yummy stuff on display!

We use hydrangeas and peonies for the Joline. We love pink!

For the lovely bridesmaids, we had cream eustomas bouquets, and Poh Choo made pink silkflowers wrist corsages with a faux diamond in the middle to add a little sparkle!

Thank you Alvin & Joline for sharing this beautiful day with us. We hope you are having fun in Boston! : )

Ian and Ee Jia

Ian and Ee Jia's vintage whimsical wedding was Spellbound's first wedding for the new decade!

And it was fabulously fun and lovely and oh so much of happiness and love!

We love the vintage beetle and little did Ee Jia knew what the guitar meant

(although we suspect she kinda know...) later on. Ian, you outdid yourself!

Yayyy! a surprise from Spellbound to the loveliest couple. As they walk up the stairs,

we had gadzillions helium balloon floating on top.

They did some homework too!! They did pre wedding shots

with Charity, Ian's sister! The binoculars & frames and are from them!

Vintage looking & polka dottie pomanders to add to the ambience!

Their friend, Wei'er made the most delicious cakes for their wedding. One of them was

chosen as the wed cake, who said wed cakes need to be be gigantic tiers?

A one layer cake is as meaningful if it was baked with tons of love...

Thank you Ian and Ee Jia for giving us such a great start to 2011!

Zhing and Daniel

Happy New Year Folks! Our very first blog for the year and decade features a couple that is very dearest to Spellbound's heart: Zhing and Daniel. If you are eagle eyes, you would have spotted Daniel's photos in some of our blogs, yep! Daniel is our top notched photographer for some of our weddings and he does a marvellous job, always so meticulous and dedicated. Zhing is of course Spellbound's sweetheart and joy. Their wedding was held in August last year at the Raffles Hotel, and we kept their photos in our archives because we wanted it to be the very first entry for 2011! Okay, on with their wedding pix!

They had a dessert buffet that is filled with homemade pineapple tarts, cupcakes,

steamed mini cakes and many more, and they were gone in a jiffy!!

Anna and team baked Red Velvet Cupcakes and we put tiny diamente onto the tags.

High candlelabras with red flowers to give off an Oriental touch to an elegant ballroom.

Ellie handwrote seat tags for Zhing and Daniel.

What a lovely time we had! Zhing and Daniel,

we miss you very very much and thank you for being so much a part of Spellbound!

Chester and Evelyn

Helllo all!

Chester and Evelyn had their wedding at Raffles Lawn and The Ballroom yesterday. They are a fabulous couple and the sun shined on them! Literally!! It was all hot and sunny but as Eve the gorgeous bride said, better hottttt then rain!!

It was all about wisteria trees and twigs for their big day... we spent countless hours twisting and cutting stripes of pink papers...and spraying our twigs gold! Our garden has golden grass now!

Real Weddings: Celeste and Chris

What fun and happy wedding we did for Celeste and Chris!! Down the rabbit hole and awaits splashes of colours and pinwheels, pomanders, dashes of balloons, photobooth and loadsa shaking the bon bon..thks to Compass Band!

We handmade pinwheels (thanks Ellie!), fluffed pomanders and add fairy lights to create a enchanted kaleidoscope of archway for the traditional yam seng!

Pots of flowers with candles and victorian birdcage add colours to the tables.

Celeste's good friend, Evelyn of Fairy's Inc made these yummylicious sundae cupcakes as

their wedding cake! Didn't we say it was fun??? Yayy!

Hi Folks! We gals at Spellbound have been busy as bees and its all good! Lotsa love and happiness going around!

We like to share with you the lovely and elegant wedding of Matthias and Cecilia, two warm and beautiful people!

Their wedding was held at Serapong Golf Course at Sentosa. Lovely overview of the lake and the greens! As their wedding party was very small, we had ivory curtains to partition the room into three sections: one for cocktails, one for the dinner and the last section for parteee!

We had fairy lights and waterfall of flowers cascading down from the alcoves...this is perfect for their first dance!

when jon and aiwee came to spellbound, they were already certain they wanted a wedding where they and their guests would both have fun! stripped free of all the typical wedding "to-do"s, they wanted the entire evening to be a huge party to feast, dance and make merry. and so they did.

after falling in love with the view and the rustic charm of the old chalet, the couple set there hearts to share this gem with their 120 guests. working with their tastes and guests, spellbound stepped in and transformed the entire house into a charming spot overlooking the ocean with cosy nooks for their friends to kick back and relax.
styled to match aiwee's party dress, the purple pomanders were inspired by the petal details on the bride's dress.
a touch of feathers to set the party alive. guests dined on a local feast consisting of teh-tarik, a flairing cocktail bar, on-the-spot naan and a generous array of fresh seafood on the grill. guests were also treated to a roving magic show from jack who charmed many from young to old. there was not a quiet moment in the entire evening.

a single pomander adds a dash of colour to the dining nook in the chalet. the walls were also covered with cuban images the groom collected.

aside from the dance floor and pumping DJ music, a game room was set aside for guests to play dominos and cards. ottomans and canopy beds were also generously scattered around the lawn and house for guests to lounge in and watch the revelry.

a touch of ribbons were added last minute because we loved how the wind twirled it around like a dance. its the little touches that really made a difference. as the evening fell, the dance party stretched on under candlelight. how romantic..

what's a cuban party without some cuban cigars (shh!! they were chocolate covered cigars so they could be enjoyed by all guests!)

over the weekend, we just planned our first MBS wedding! that place is massively big and the view was gorgeous!! what an experience!! and it helped that we had the loveliest couple! along with meeting some of our ex clients and lovely vendors, it could possibly have been one of the nicest weekend we've enjoyed in a while! and as if that was not good enough, triston from triangles also shared with us some pictures from a older wedding from earlier this year!! icing on the cake! :)

good monday morning, sweets! :)

the air is crisp and cool this morning, perfect for some spring cleaning in the office! innit so therapeutic to stock-take what you have in life once in a while? we've waved farewell to some precious (but less used) props to make space for our new and exciting acquisitions coming in the near future! so keep your eyes glued for more amazing theming and adventures to come.

we've always been firm believers of rejuvenating our senses and reinspiring ourselves. books, movies and fashion being most common day to day inspirations! we're also very blessed to be surrounded by people with so many creative talents like dress designers, fine stationery peeps, florists, fellow wedding planners and the likes! but one of our favorite source of inspiration comes from travel. a change of scenery, language and dress style is just such a fresh breathe of air!

and so we've been super lucky in this year not only to have met awesome new clients but also to broaden our horizons (literally..) and open our wedding planning world to destination weddings! we're awfully excited to share our (work) travel schedules!!

its with great excitement we share these beautiful images with you from a recent wedding we planned and style for kerry and leslie!! the couple has impeccable taste and wanted their personal styles to influence the entire party and share things they love with their nearest and dearest.

they held an intimate ceremony at the band stand surround by the flora and fauna of botanic gardens, followed by a dinner party at halia.

personalized cake toppers from the couple on a delicious cake from marmalade pantry. instead of the regular fondant cake, the bride requested for delicious buttercream. excellent idea!! and tres delicieux!!

a cheery bouquet made of ranunculus, peonies, tulip and pompoms.

photobooth corner where the guests had tonnes of fun and guest escort cards with fabric covered button badge, doubling up as a thoughful favour to remember the occasion with.

whimsical ring pillow that held the precious rings in place.

long table runners on guest tables showered with generous blooms of narcissus, hydrangeas and happy flowers befitting the theme. we transformed halia into a bright spot of sunshine where the guests wined and dined all night.

first looks are always so sweet.

bridesmaids held colour coordinated pinwheels in lieu of bouquets. what a refreshing change!

we spent out new year ringing in a lovely couple! sophia and bryan got married 1st jan and celebrated their nuptials surrounded by their beloved friends. what a great way to start a new year! a lovely church ceremony kick started the celebrations.

sophia looked gorgeous in her dress!

the evening celebrations were held in shangri-la. inspired by green forestry and their love for all things picnic related, we transformed the ballroom into a fun spot of sunshine beautiful for a whole night of partying.

recently, we had the honour of planning scarlet's first birthday party! hosted by her loving parents, suresh and dilki and adorable older sister, kristin, this munchkin is the apple of their eye. and its not hard to see why. she is super adorable and her smile can light up anybody's day. onto her party details!

birthday theme was picked inspired by her name and her favorite toy, spotty the dog. instead of the usual princessy pink and cartoon characters, cardblanche created an ohsochic set of party stationery including, invitation cards and favour bag labels. a very thoughtful dilki also bought personalized toys for each of scarlet's little friends that were age appropriate and fun!!

children table filled with yummy children food like chicken tenders, hundreds and thousands, fruit kebab and animal jello. we spotted many adults swarming around the children table.

and friends slowly trickled off in the early evening all sugared up and happy!!

family and close friends goofed around in the ball pen till later that night! who says kids gets all the fun!!

sharon and yungyih, our last clients to close the year 2009. they were the warmest and kindest couple we've worked with. yungyih is witty and cheeky while sharon is sweet and oh-so-endearing. we're thoroughly enjoyed the entire planning process and left us with a little post-wedding blues when it all wrapped up. talk about the perfect way to end a wonderful 2009. *le sigh*

we were going through our picture archives in preparation for an exciting new project! (to be announced here shortly so stay posted!) and got these pictures from a wedding we did late last year in december! our lovely clients engaged our services for venue styling at the Asian Civilisation Museum. we also had the honour to style their ROM in the Singapore Police Officer Mess in 2008.. so it was an even greater pleasure to work with them again!

months ago, we met leonora & darren for the first time. at that point, they just returned from a vacation where darren popped the question, wearing her freshly-minted beautiful beautiful engagement ring, leonora already knew exactly what she wanted, she had pictures, she had ideas and her theme was already decided. that was when we knew it would be such a fun journey.

boy were we right! both of they are such delightful people to work with. they were precise, decisive and full of fun ideas. we love darren's sweet gestures and his home-made video which made us tear. but more than ever, we love leonora's bubbley character and hilariously honest emails and conversations. there is no one dull meeting with the two of them around.

they got married in the beautiful CHIJMES hall amongst close friends and relatives. sweet!

and celebrated their wedding at the Ritz Carlton in the evening. the beautiful couple cruising down the chandelier-lined aisle. loved her dress and hair. simply stunning! (and her dashing groom!)

into the ballroom filled with lovely tall hydrangeas to fit her vintage chic theme. everything from stationery, to favors and cake was elegant and in romantic tones befitting the vintage theme with a touch of glamour.

stage backdrop inspired by vintage boudoir vanity tables was put together with laura ashley wallpaper, antiqued mirrors and chandeliers.

the wedding of julian and anita reminds us so much of why we love talking about and planning weddings all the time. from their personalized logo, to their choice of flowers and picture trees, every detail was a true reflection and celebration of julian and anita's new life together.

seating cards for guests! even though the couple planned their wedding remotely from hongkong, the wedding celebration was just as fun and thoughtful.

tables were showered in white orchid. a personal favorite of the bride.

picture trees that featured their photographic expeditions around the world. they even dedicated a tree for their beloved pets. the guests had a great time walking through the trees at the cocktail receptions.

yummy cupcakes served by shangri-la for a sweet treat at the end of the evening.

a special wedding with a beautiful theme. the couple wanted their evening affair to be a romantic, classic and personal affair

held at straits room, fullerton, the couple wanted something special that reflects THEM to share with their guests. from the oranged petal-lined aisle to the instant photography booth fronted by their colleague to the impeccably selected classical music, this was truly a wedding celebration personalized for them.

snuck in the corner of sentosa, this wedding venue is a breathtaking setting for an intimate and serene wedding. with the greens of golf courses as a backdrop, this is proof that singapore is not all concrete and tall buildings! if you always dreamed of a pretty lawn wedding, this is the place for you. the weather held up really nicely last weekend for this wedding and we had a lovely time dressing up the ficus tree at sentosa, singapore.

tiny touches of pink and purple lisanthus sets the mood for a romantic evening. the bride also loved the pearls we draped from the floral pieces. its always the small things that matters!

your path down the altar takes you over the little wooden bridge. how cute!

dinah & roland got married in the church of immaculate heart of mary and celebrated their nuptials in the ballroom in the raffles hotel. the entire day was personal and heart-warming. pretty much how we would describe this couple. every bit of planning went into making the experience as pleasant and meaningful for them and for their guests!

both of them loved pink and wanted something soft and pretty for the church without being overwhelming. we love how the pastel hues came together. cascading orchids and a tight cluster of roses, eustomas & hydrangeas to add a touch of colour to the pews.

the couple also ordered a selection of yummy cupcakes from cake in a cup for their church reception! gosh! the most delicious cupcakes ever! check out her blogsite for pictures of the set up! sure made our lace cupcake tier look even prettier! :)

we always thank our lucky stars for our clients.

we had such a blast planning and enjoying this wedding. it was almost sad when the party ended! the music was pumping through the night, drinks going all round and everyone had a ball! from the first day we met melina & kristian, they have been such a joy to work with. they knew exactly what they like and gave us the freedom to exercise our creativity in translating their ideas to real-life design concepts.

we love it that melina came back to us with little touches of her favorite things like butterflies & orchids, their love for australian beaches, their oh-so-sweet family traditions and added her their own personalities. we were only too happy to incorporate all of that to make their wedding not only beautiful but also meaningful for their friends.

the simple church set up using roses and orchids flower balls.

for the wedding reception, they wanted the wedding decor to be simple but not stuffy or overly girly. she gave us full reign to play with ideas but we eventually came to this idea . When I think of understated elegance, a table like this comes to mind…

the ballroom at The Sentosa Resort and Spa is a dream to work with. there is so much natural light and mirrors. anything you put in there will stand out! without much fuss, the ballroom also turned into a dancefloor for late night partying.

music and dancing played a huge part in their wedding. they hired local band - tabula as their wedding musicians who played an awesome long set of pop, retro and top 40s tune to get the party started. oh boy did their guests boogie!

guests enjoyed cocktails and non-stop desserts under a canopy of white paper lanterns. lending a rosy glow to the entire ballroom. they specially arrange for a childhood montage to be made by printpalette to play on loop during their dessert hour. cuteness!

we love that this wedding was small and intimate but filled with meaningful details. did we mentioned the tear-jerking speeches and toasts!?! congrats, guys!

this gorgeous wedding feature is one to warm your heart and provide plenty inspiration! the bride, wendy, is lovely to work with and always had a clear idea of what she wanted for her wedding. she wanted strong warm colours with decadent table settings, lush bouquets and painfully stylish self-designed stationery for their romantic wedding at the ritz! this wedding showed us that details are indeed well-received and important even if you're planning to host a party of 800!

as avid art-enthusiasts, the couple dreamed of sharing a snippet of that with the guests. we worked with them and conceptualized a modern take on an art gallery with heavy gilded frames, chandeliers set amongst lush florals as as a backdrop for their stage. we're totally smitten by this lovely couple!

the dramatic set up had guests climbing on stage to take pictures way after the party was over!

we absolutely love this wedding motif incorporating their initials into the "double happiness"! a cool twist in tradition and super special cos wendy designed it herself.

their guests indulged in dramatic centerpieces with peonies, lisanthus, cymbidium orchids and delicious hydrangeas. the entire ballroom smelt divine.

the powerful motifs and colours used in this wedding spoke of love and passion, exactly what weddings are made of.

we love sam and jen. they're a wonderful couple and A-star clients. we've been working with them for over a year as we also styled their church wedding. we love how they are very articulate in their visions and concepts and very clear on their priorities. no penny was saved to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for their guests. the focus of the wedding, not them. their guests. it was truly a celebration of love.

touch of orange roses in each napkin with personalized menu and placecard for each guest.

their dinner venue was a blank canvas but we were thrilled! concrete floors, bare stage, bring it on! :)

the entertainment for the evening was provided for by their own friends. boy! did they put on an awesome show! they would spontaneously climb on the stage and dedicate songs for the couple.. the show overran late into the night and everyone had a blast on the dance floorevery wedding should be like this!

we turned the hall into an chic soiree for small group of 100 guests. dinner was catered for by les amis, more commonly known for their amazingly fine restaurants spotted around singapore. the little known fact, they have a really fantastic catering kitchen that whips out delicious cuisines right before your eyes. the guests were treated to a show kitchen where they saw the entire seamless process of food preparation from the suave kitchen team to their tables. and the food was perfect!

three tiers of yummy chocolate cake from cherylshuen! we were head over heels in love with this cake and the details! the ribbons had swarovski crystlas and each flower handcrafted by marzipan to match the decor. what a work of art!

hello blogging world! wow! it has been a while! what have you been up to! we've been busy with weddings and working on new inspiration! and all ready to share more in months to come! we're up to our sleeves with exciting themes in the oven and fresh from the oven is richard and meiyin's at the ritz carlton in june! we had such a special working experience with them.

our bride is romantic, thoughtful and sweet! and wanted to fairytale theme with a stylish twist.enough but not over the top. sounds like every modern-day princess dream, innit? a little spark of the castle, the fireworks but not too thematic. (its not disneyland afterall).

so we picked out a few design elements that the couple loved and conceptualized this! romantic sweet blues matched with deep navy blue for royalty, lush hydrangeas, chandeliers with a tad of bling and crystals.. just a little storybook romance with a touch of elegance.. we were so glad they and their guests loved it.

we loved how the sparkle of the chandelier twinkled in the guests eyes all through dinner.

candlelight illuminated the stage, a subtle backdrop for the boisterous toasts that evening.

dine under a canopy of lush blooms, a relaxed and classy way to spend a candlelit evening with your loved ones. the guests enjoyed the personal touch in their individual menus.

we are firm believers of themed weddings. it makes all the design elements fall in place to make a cohesive picture. but with the incredibly overwhelming ideas and inspiration up our sleeves (hey! we're not complaining..), sometimes it does get very cluttered or "over-themed". just a little advice to brides out there, sit down with your team (if you don't have a planner, that is..)and sort out when and what is important, edit out the endless possibilities and focus on the ones that matter. sometimes less is really more! :)

nestled in a cozy corner of town is a quiet nugget of space, emily hill. in the middle of the hustle and bustle of town sits this quaint little colonial house with a charm of its own. we love how the minute you walk into this space, it feels like a intimate space you own. for rachel and wei chiang, it was what made them fall in love with this place. it was THE perfect place to host their family and friends as they had envisioned something simple and chic under the stars.

rachel's talented sister designed the entire stationery suite for this wedding. add a victorian inspired frame and some celedon ribbons and we're ready to welcome guests! :)

each table had their own luscious centerpiece and fresh scented apple candles! we love how they celebrated their wedding with the beautiful outdoors, delicious food and excellent music.

a simple but cosy set up on the greens with victorian centerpieces flanking the aisle. the bride wanted nothing more than just a gathering of their nearest and dearest to witness this moment.

all flowers and venue styling were conceptualized by Spellbound. Working with the palette of green and pale cream, we created bouquets and arrangements that were flirty and neat and not overly formal. the guests were thrilled by their wedding pictures, displayed art gallery style in the hallway.

wow. i don't believe this has taken me this long to write about monique lhuillier. for the ballerina inspired, fairytale romantic bride, monique lhuillier is the jimmychoo of bridalwear.. my favorite is tne angelique and scarlet. their delicate lace detailing had me at hello. a little birdie told me that they even started making bridesmaid dresses in the states ranging from $300 onwards! wow, one can only be jealous!

this etheral beauty from their recent fall collection reminds me of carrie in the satc finale enveloped in a billow of (grey) tulle waiting on alexander petrovsky in paris.. oh-so-romantic moment!

wow! it has been a while but we have not forgotten you!

we have been busy with upcoming weddings and some exciting projects so stay tuned for more updates and yummier wedding inspirations coming your way. meanwhile, we have some teasers from a wedding back in april sent to us by kuang from 39 east.

we loved working with this couple. they were very relaxed but clear with what they wanted for their wedding. they picked singapore and raffles because this is where they fell in love. isn't that the best reason!? so they wanted a simple, an intimate wedding for only 40 guests. and they cut no corners to make sure their guests, who all flew in from afar, enjoyed their time here. down to the scents in the reception room, the personalized notecards they wrote to each and every guest, it was perfect. althought we only got to meet the bride a day before the wedding rehearsal and she was every bit as graceful and composed as her wedding day. it was such a pleasure to be part of their wedding day!

i love these pictures! :) they really show the personalities of the couple! great job, kuang & aloysius!

some mid-day romancing around the dancing fountains. the couple hired a string trio to set the mood for their cocktails..

we loved these chairs on the lawn! it fit the hotel to the t! they were perfect for the relaxed lawn ceremony. the couple also provided scented sandalwood fans for their guests who loved it!

they wanted a simple but traditional fruit cake for their celebration from the hotel.

just a touch of elegance in the simple cascading bouquet of phalaonopsis orchids.

we love it when we see images from our past weddings from photographers! these set of images are from wansheng from feldberyl. every image brings back such wonderful memories!

some time ago, we've posted some images on amy & norm's dinner at st regis, here are some more from their morning events to share. the wedding ceremony was held at berlayer terrace (rooftop terrace) at keppel club. the club staff has been most helpful in the set up and we were blessed with lovely strong sun! :) the view was breathtaking. open seas with a cool steady breeze..

here comes the beautiful bride..

rain or shine, these beautiful blue and white parasols came to good use. also made lovely favours for guests

scrapbooking delights hand-crafted by the bride herself. we love how much effort this couple put into their own wedding.. the guests loved this display. guests, both young and old ran their fingers over each and every picture exclaiming "wow! hen mei hor.." (translates: very pretty!) amy, A plus for effort and talent!

the champagne ice bar was a popular hit. we soon found out to find the groomsmen, head towards the bar and you'd spot them!

we love this little page boy who did everything he was told during the ceremony.. so precious. but when it came to taking pictures in his full tux in the sweltering heat.. he drew the line!

sorting through our archive and found this wedding from august 2008 that we absolutely love!! the bridal party, the couple and the colour palette was most beautiful. somewhat refreshing from our typical girlish hues. but still elegant!

instead of pairing typical soothing white roses with hydrangeas, this national museum wedding draws its inspiration from a painter's palette with bright burst of orange and hints of sage green against a backdrop of neutral and chalk white washed walls. set amidst the esteemed arts pieces and exhibition of famous names like da vinci, the balcony brings on artsy chic like a fresh breath of air! venue styling and flowers by spellbound

our first wedding at sentosa golf club! and its an undiscovered gem! we love how bright and open the space is and the view is unrivalled! :) the beautifully manicured golfcourse and setting sun provides the perfect wedding backdrop! if only you're allowed to get married on the turf, it would have been impeccable. but with rounds of golf going on until dark, it was too way too risky to put our gorgeous bride on the greens.

chin's bouquet was a mix of textures and scents. when she first met us, she told us how much she loved the smell of tubular roses so we filled the entire room with sweet-smelling blooms. it was like a garden! hmm..

a wreath of flowers to welcome the guests! :) all the pretty details that warmly welcomes your guest to a lovely party.

we are so proud of the reception table filled with fresh flowers! it was all pretty with touches of pink and personalized wedding favours in the form of candy! and it smelt magnificent!! way to score points with your receptionists.

the bride marched down the white aisle with floral balls filled with roses, pink lisanthus and touches of lime green carnation! we loved how the breeze twirled the ribbons like ballerina! oh so romantic!

a oldie but a goodie. and not the couple we're referring to but the colour palette! the classic colours of weddings - white. there is just something magical about how clean, sophisticated and neat the color makes everything look! :)

white peonies and lisanthus... a beautiful combination as the wispy romantic blooms contrast with the twirly greens.

our first wedding this year started with a bang! we were honoured to have been part of amy and norman's wedding! thanks guys!! it was so much fun and their guests were so sporting with the masquerade theme. they were each provided beautiful masks, some glittery, some gilded in gold, some feathered, some very sexy and every guest put them on when giving the couple and their parents a rousing welcome on the red carpet! it was a magnificent sight.

earlier in the day, we created a chic and cosy ceremony site at keppel club for the couple in shades of aqua and brown. and amy displayed her painstakingly crafted scrapbook pages.. she is so good with her crafts it put us to shame. till today, im disappointed we didn't capture any images of our own! *yikes*

but the talented and official photographer, wansheng from feldberyl has more breathtaking images to share here! thank you! :)

hi guys,

we're excited to share this news! we're in wedding & travel, style weddings and her world brides for a few weddings that we did last year! we're bursting with joy that the brides loved their own weddings enough to want to show the world. also, very flattered that the magazines thought our ideas were cute! but most of all, looking back at the weddings, we really miss our lovely bride (& grooms) so much! :)

real weddings sections are truly our favorite part in the whole magazine cos its a reminder of why all these talented vendors and couples fuss over the little things. because magical things happen! and also gives us a peek into other weddings that were done by other planners. it humbles us to be in the company of you guys.. such an inspiration!

one of the prettiest small weddings we've done. we always tell our clients irregardless of location, there is always a way to make it drop dead gorgeous! no bride deserves any less. we transformed east india room in the raffles into a chic event to host 100 close friends and family of alyson and paul's.

alyson loves her flowers BIG! delicate details like crystals caught the sparkle in the candles and made a pretty sight.

a candy bar for the sweet toothies! not forgetting extra portions of gummy bears which was paul's own favorite.

some breathtaking pictures from elaine & ming's solemnization earlier last year from feldberyl! their theme was purple and we used hydrangeas as the main flower. we work with hydrangeas often cos of their sheer beauty! and elaine never fails to impress us with her fantastic taste and eye for colour. even the confetti, favours and placecards were in similar hues of violet!

alicia and roger held their solemnization and wedding at the beautiful Singapore Art Museum (SAM) last year.

spellbound was proud to be the lovely couple's wedding planner and enjoyed each step through their journey with them! we stepped in as their wedding planner and florist and turned the auditorium (formally a school chapel) into the perfect background for classic wedding ceremony with a long aisle and beautiful flowers. the wedding guests were all smiles and triston, the official photographer, captured it beautifully.
reception for a party of 60 was held in the glass hall also decorated with drapes and paper laterns to fit the clean and chic theme.tall centerpieces graced each dining table with accents of sage green candles. the room turned into the dance floor when dinner was done and guests whipped out their dancing shoes and shimmied the romantic evening away. what a perfect way to celebrate!

with every wedding, we learnt something new and exciting and with this lovely couple, we learnt that huge weddings (anything above 500 pax!) can be stress-free and very personal!! with the help of iky & joey from the ritz, it was so much fun! :)

also, we were utterly impressed by their yum-seng buddies. it was by far the heartiest and most heartfelt 'yumseng' we've experienced. im sure guests all the way from mandarin oriental must have heard us celebrate this grand affair.

theme for the banquet was vastly different from the rich and warm colours at their ROM a couple of days ago. (also decorated by spellbound weddings!) they went for the cool, classic shades of white using orchids to dress up the entire ballroom.

charlie and waikuan found time to catch up with their family and friends (charlie from hk, waikuan from singapore) at their wedding celebrations. the guests enjoyed the venue at raffles house, fort canning, the beautiful breeze and dug into a sumptious fare provided by the couple. thats why we love weddings! at the end of the evening, the heart felt thank yous from the bride & grooms, the smiles on their guests' face is our reward!

tables were decorated in low centerpieces of blush pink and cream roses. the subtle glow of tealight candles allowed the whole setting to sparkle through the night sharing the special moment

in this particular wedding, that holds particularly true. elaine is one of the most talented, personable and impressive bride spellbound has worked with. not only does she come up with amazing ideas, she is open to so many ideas that otherwise would be frowned upon. also, it is evident that she has so many friends, family and colleague surrounding her that love her enough to put their heart and soul into planning their wedding as if it were their own. we must admit that we did too.

all that jazz - featuring luscious pink feathers and warm maroon hues with sparkley accents. this theme is conceptualized by spellbound inspired by the roaring 20's and the brassy jazz, blues, and swing era. a large jazz band roaring from the stage filled the room with beautiful tunes throughout the evening.The decor features flapper headpiece-fluffy feathered centerpieces and diamante to give the effect of a glittering evening sky.
how important lighting is. we love how the colored gels warmed the entire room up!! (p.s. this is shangri-la's island ballroom!)

doesn't it make you wanna whip out your feather boa and do a little moulin-rouge cabaret number?

photobooth fun for guests! life-size photobooth with instant photography services to create a thoughtful little something for guests to take home!! this was one of the hot favorites amongst the guests..

we also loved the reception areas. the computerized check made check-in a breeze, the floor to ceiling "wishes tree", the girls doing their rounds offering chocolate cigars to guests! the poker tables with hot young dudes at the reception area were also creating some hype. so for once, the guests were not impatiently trying to burst into the dining room and start feasting cos for them, the party already started with all these fun little add-ons!

in the buzz: bows 2009

Spellbound was very honoured to be invited to participate in the Bows 2009 Outdoor Wedding Show. We have always been a supporter of alternative wedding venues. On one hand we love the luxuries and grandeur of hotels and restaurant but whats there not to love about being out basking in the sunshine or frolicking under the moonlight. Especially if you have a beautiful tent that we witnessed over the weekend!! we were in awe and absolutely thrilled to work our magic on the two setup.

in our little english tea garden, gorgeous shades of hydrangea blues and creamy roses were the inspiration for this intimate set up.

under the canopy of twinklin stars, bird cages and vines

custom-made chandelier and candelebras, striking floral arrangements filled with romantic blooms comes together to make a stunning display.

beautiful marquee with french style windows gives your guests the perfect opportunity to sip on cocktails in the comforts of A/C while enjoying the glorious view of the beach/garden/waterfront/whatever your heart desires! drapes of glittery black tulle adds to the mystique of the evening.

after popular local tv series 'little nonya' came to an end, peranakan seems to be the newest buzz word! i must admit though that i did not catch a single episode of the tv drama but i love the food, culture, the fashion and how they proudly embrace their heritage.

benjamin & evelyn's wedding was every bit as beautiful and personal as we envisioned it to be. as we hear gasps of horror "personal? how can? it was at the ritz!" but this wedding was a fusion of countries, cultures and to personally witness how it is bound together with the love of two young people is amazing!

the last wedding before christmas was lovely. it was an evening of heartfelt toasts, teary speeches and thank you-s. we loved working with the talented bride, anita. she has such lovely ideas and created a lovely moodboard that really helped when designing her wedding!

the detail that went into the design element in this wedding: black chandeliers, the baroque motif, the colours (black white and fuscia pink), the flowers, the personalized favours, the photo-wall.. we love how these different ideas contributed to the end product! :)

peonies were in season! just one luscious bloom was sufficient to dress up the aisle..

tiered wedding cake lovingly baked by the bride's friend (makes it all the more meaningful..) decorated by us!

sexy black linen and flirty pink centerpieces added the vavavroom!! :)
